Nick Wilders is an award-winning music director, pianist, orchestrator, and conductor. At home in the theatre, concert hall, and recording studio, his versatility in style and equal comfortability as a singer and keyboardist has kept him busy and contributing to exciting musical projects around the world. Distinguishing himself early in his career touring internationally with JERSEY BOYS, he was recently Music Director of RIDE THE CYCLONE at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.. Nick is an experienced collaborator in new musical development, active cabaret and Broadway pianist (WICKED, COMPANY), and an orchestrator for ensembles ranging from rock bands to full orchestras. He has been a faculty member/pianist at Marymount Manhattan College, AMDA and Cap21 Conservatory. Mostly, he's down for any good jam session, especially one with a post-show Shock Top or a diner visit.
As a music director, Nick has gained distinct skill and interest in new musical development. His early work as a Conductor and Co-Music Director for live events with Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS gave experience with the inner workings of a large-scale music department, but much of his work is rooted in direct collaboration with composers, lyricists, and actors. He has learned from some of the leading music directors and supervisors on Broadway, and his keen attention to detail and communication helps a music department stay effective and consistently in a position to engage and solve musical problems. He is an active MD for developmental workshops, and a resident Music Director for Holland America Lines. He is an expert in Finale and Sibelius notation softwares.

Nick at the keyboard as sub piano/conductor of NOTES FROM NOW Off-Broadway
Picking up piano to accompany his middle school choir, Nick is now an expert at the keys - a skilled pianist and keyboard programmer, who brings a balance of stylistic acumen, and sight reading skill. He was recently a sub keyboardist for the Tony Award-winning revival of COMPANY, and before the COVID-19 pandemic was a keyboardist and keyboard programmer for the Drama Desk-nominated NYC run and Broadway Records cast recording of EMOJILAND. He is currently an orchestra keyboardist and rehearsal pianist for WICKED on Broadway and sub conductor / keyboardist for TITANIQUE Off-Broadway. He was recently pianist and MD for the Mazzoni Center Honors, honoring Stephen Schwartz, including performances with Lizzy McAlpine, Alex Newell, J Harrison Ghee, Terrance Mann, and Charlotte D'Amboise. Another recent favorite is the performance and orchestration of the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" for ALMA NYC dance company, choreographed by Zanza Steinberg.
Combining broad expertise of multiple instruments and expert copyworks kills, Nick is increasingly in-demand as an orchestrator and arranger in theatre and beyond. His orchestrations for full orchestra have been featured with the National Pharmonic, at Lincoln Center with the American Pops Orchestra, on Broadway with the Broadway Backwards orchestra, and broadcast nationwide on PBS. His orchestration of WINGS was performed in the world premiere at Drake University in October 2023. Performers of his arrangements / orchestrations include Amy Grant, Stephanie Mills, Christopher Jackson, Carolina Gaitán, Natalie Grant, Kate Baldwin, Jessica Vosk, Laura Benanti, Anthony Rapp, and countless other performers. In the 2022 season, he created new orchestrations for the legendary George Faison's re-imagined ONCE ON THIS ISLAND at Summer Theatre of New Canaan.
