NICK WILDERS

ABOUT
Nick Wilders is a music director, pianist, orchestrator, and purported vocal wizard. At home in the theatre or recording studio, his versatility in style and equal comfortability as a singer and keyboardist has kept him busy and contributing to exciting musical projects around the world. Distinguishing himself early in his career touring internationally with JERSEY BOYS and performing at iconic venues like the Rainbow Room and 54 Below, he is now based in NYC. Nick is an eager collaborator in new musical development, active Broadway and cabaret pianist, and an orchestrator for ensembles ranging from rock bands to full orchestras. He's also an experienced teaching artist, and a faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College, AMDA and Cap21 Conservatory. Mostly, he's down for any good jam session, especially one that involves a post-show Shock Top or a diner visit.

MUSIC DIRECTOR
As a music director, Nick has gained distinct skill and interest in new musical development. His work as the Rehearsal MD and Associate Music Director for live events with Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS has given him insight to the inner workings of a large-scale music department, but much of his work is rooted in direct collaboration with composers, lyricists, and actors. He has learned from some of the leading music directors and supervisors on Broadway, and his keen attention to detail and communication helps a music department stay effective and consistently in a position to engage and solve musical problems.

PIANIST

First picking up piano to accompany his middle school choir, Nick is now a master at the keys - a dynamic pianist and keyboard programmer, who brings a balance of pop sensibility, jazz chops, and sight reading skill. He was most the pianist for Fiasco Theatre's VALENTINE FOR SONDHEIM event, and before the COVID-19 pandemic was a keyboardist and keyboard programmer for the Drama Desk-nominated NYC run and Broadway Records cast recording of EMOJILAND. Other recent projects include partnering with Abingdon Theatre Company and Duane Park for their series featuring Jessica Vosk, Max Von Essen, Teal Wicks, Katie Thompson, Nick Adams, and talented burlesque artists Pearls Daily and The Maine Attraction, along with performance and orchestration of the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" for ALMA NYC dance company, choreographed by Zanza Steinberg.

ORCHESTRATOR

With Nick's broad expertise of style and knowledge of multiple instruments, he brings creative and stirring arrangements forward for rock bands, jazz combos, and orchestras alike. His orchestrations for larger ensembles have been featured with the American Pops Orchestra (broadcast in "United In Song" on PBS), the Broadway Backwards orchestra, and at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards. He has created charts for countless other combos, ranging from the hit ROCKIN' WITH WRONSKI at Bowery Electric to Jimmi Kilduff's RAGS TO RICHES: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TONY BENNETT performing around the United States, and the world. Selected performers of his arrangements and orchestrations include David Archuleta, Judy McClane, Jarrod Spector, Teal Wicks, Dee Roscioli, and Jackie Burns.
